Tulips at the Pike Place Market April 2010

You don't have to go all the way to the Skagit Valley to see tulips.  They've conveniently found their way to the Pike Place Market.  You'll see tulips there by the thousands in an eye-popping display that should last through the month of April.  The market is easily reached by public transportation, just 3 blocks from the Seattle Transit Tunnel Westlake Station

I have the maroon and yellow/white edged ones in my garden - Gavota tulips. They are one of my favorite :)

The top photo is a great shot. Did you tweak the colors on photo shop or are these the "au naturel"?

Very striking photos and the colors really spark on that black background. Somehow tulips do look good crowded together don't they?

Is the color in photos ever really natural Allen? When taken in sunlight colors always look paler. In this case the artificial lighting at the market gave everything a yellowish cast. I adjusted the color to tone that down & enhance the contrast.

I agree, who needs that long drive when the tulips come to you?! We got a lovely bunch on Whidbey the other week that was cut that morning at a small family farm, they lasted for-EVER. Great shots!
