On October 2, 2009 I visited the San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum in Golden Gate Park. Strybing Arboretum is one of the most interesting & beautiful public gardens in the United States. The California Native Garden is particularly impressive. There are many more gardens within the arboretum. Strybing Arboretum is easily reached by taking the N Judah to 9th & Irving in the Inner Sunset. Parking is also available nearby.

  1. One of my favorite places on earth. I love that it is FREE. I used to just go hang out there, read a book, wander around, look for bird life, walk with friends, etc. before I ever gave a @#$()& about plants. Maybe it had an osmosis effect!

  2. I used to spend a lot of time at Strybing Arboretum when I lived in San Francisco. I volunteered at the Arboretum Society nursery. I took a class on trees. I would NEVER go to SF without visiting that place. By the way, you can use swear words on my blog.
