I have never really liked the Arboretum Japanese garden for some reason, and I don't think it's just the groomed-ness, as that can be lovely when it's just right. I don't know, maybe I'm just a commie, I hate to pay to enter a garden. :) That's why I love Strybing so much too, since it's great and FREE. I also agree that Kubota is the best, just flows so well and is so enjoyable to wander.Karenhttp://greenwalks.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225992611972112562.post-72274065707079733372010-04-13T15:40:02.371-07:002010-04-13T15:40:02.371-07:00We have 3 very nice Japanese gardens in the Seattl...We have 3 very nice Japanese gardens in the Seattle metropolitan area. Whether they are nearly world-class, I'm not sure. From pictures I've seen, they don't compare very well to gardens in Japan.Jordan Jacksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03619237580488545143noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225992611972112562.post-60083182801595812352010-04-13T10:29:56.718-07:002010-04-13T10:29:56.718-07:00It hardly seems fair: Seattle area has two (nearly...It hardly seems fair: Seattle area has two (nearly?) worldclass Japanese gardens and some places have none at all. I think that must be why although I like Japanese gardens, I have never really wanted to create one for myself. I like my garden and art too, I suppose, just a bit looser.Helen at summerhousehttp://summerhouseart.com/blognoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4225992611972112562.post-37872279543416973152010-04-11T11:32:22.145-07:002010-04-11T11:32:22.145-07:00Thanks for sharing the exceptional photographs. Our mainstream media has been failing us by not showcasing gardens such as these.allanbecker-gardenguruhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00249183285802762125noreply@blogger.com
